Some weddings stay with you forever, and this Summer 2025 celebration at The Ryland Inn is one we’ll never forget. Originally planned as an outdoor ceremony, the day began with heavy rain that quickly shifted plans indoors. And then, just as the ceremony began, the clouds parted and golden sunlight poured into the room, creating the most breathtaking backdrop. With a color palette of whites, ivories, and abundant greenery, this rustic-meets-modern wedding was filled with romance, warmth, and unforgettable floral moments from start to finish.
The Bridal Bouquet: Designed Around the Bride’s Favorite Flower
From our very first meeting, our bride had one non-negotiable request—ranunculus had to be in her bouquet. And we happily delivered.
Her round clutch-style bridal bouquet featured soft ivory roses, delicate white ranunculus, silver dollar eucalyptus, and Italian ruscus. The neutral palette felt romantic and elegant, while the lush greenery added texture and flow.
What made this bouquet truly special wasn’t just the flowers—it was how personal it felt. Since ranunculus was her favorite bloom, we didn’t stop at just the bouquet. Instead, we carried this flower throughout the entire wedding design so her favorite bloom was woven into every part of the day.
Custom Bridesmaid & Bridal Party Flowers
The bridesmaid bouquets were designed to perfectly complement the bridal bouquet. Same style, similar flowers, and just slightly smaller for balance. The result was a beautifully cohesive look in photos without taking away from the bride’s main character moment.
The groom and groomsmen wore classic white rose boutonnieres for a clean finish. We also designed corsages for both moms and the grandmother, along with boutonnieres for the fathers, making sure every immediate family member was thoughtfully included in the florals.
The Indoor Ceremony: Asymmetrical Arch & Aisle Decor
Once the rain set in, the ceremony at The Ryland Inn (Whitehouse Station, NJ) moved indoors, but the beauty of the day was just beginning. We designed a large broken (asymmetrical) floral arch with full, lush coverage using roses, hydrangea, ranunculus, and stock. The large scale of the design beautifully framed the couple and filled the indoor ceremony space.
The aisle was lined with lush arrangements placed atop elegant gold metal stands, leading the bride to the altar. And just as the ceremony began, sunlight streamed through the large windows and wrapped the entire room in warm, natural light. It was one of those unexpectedly perfect wedding moments!
Reception Design: Greenery, Candles & Seamless Transitions
After the ceremony, our on-site team quickly shifted the space during cocktail hour to prepare for the reception. The floral designs transitioned effortlessly into a candlelit celebration filled with romance.
The long oval tables featured greenery garlands made with silver and seeded eucalyptus, accented with touches of roses. Floating candles in glass cylinders were scattered throughout the garlands, adding the perfect glow for the evening.
The round tables were styled with clusters of floating candles in the center, surrounded by scattered greenery and roses for a natural feel. Every table featured candlelight, adding consistency and glow throughout the room.
For the sweetheart table, we repurposed the ceremony arch as a stunning backdrop and placed the aisle arrangements at the base. This transformed the ceremony flowers into a show-stopping focal point for the couple during dinner.
Chandelier Decor & Details
One of the most eye-catching details of the reception was the dance floor chandelier, which we adorned with fresh greenery for a garden effect overhead. We also placed tall floral arrangements in vases throughout the main areas of the venue and added floral designs to the bar for an extra elevated touch.
Their welcome sign and seating chart were both wrapped with greenery garlands and accented with—you guessed it—ranunculus! These thoughtful details tied the entire design together and made the experience feel immersive from the moment guests arrived.
Behind the Scenes: Real Wedding Challenges & On-Site Problem Solving
This wedding was a perfect example of why full-service, on-site wedding florist matters. Because the ceremony and reception were in the same room, our team had a tight window during cocktail hour to completely reset the flowers. On top of that, there was an unexpected table change, and suddenly, one extra garland was needed.
Thanks to having extra flowers on hand and our experienced team on-site, we created a brand-new garland right then and there. The room was completed on time, and not a single guest ever knew a last-minute change had happened.
A Summer Wedding That Proved Anything Is Possible
From the ranunculus-filled bridal bouquet to the dramatic asymmetrical ceremony arch, every detail of this wedding worked together to create an unforgettable celebration. Even with unexpected weather and last-minute changes, the day unfolded beautifully.
With the right team and thoughtful design, anything is possible!
